TOFT POINT NATIONAL NATURAL AREA

Sunrise at Toft Point on the morning of May 15th.  Gorgeous morning, a little cool in the upper 30’s, but worth the trip out.  Saw several deer and turkey, geese and ducks on my way out. Just as I was walking down the path towards the shoreline, I saw Cana Island Lighthouse’s beacon, but when I pointed my camera and zoomed in for a shot of the light, it had already stopped flashing.  Guess I’ll have to get up a little earlier next time.

CANA ISLAND SUNRISE

May 17th, ’09, 5:09AM, Amber and me drive out to Cana Island to try and capture the elusive Cana Island Lighthouse beacon.

No luck, but we saw several kinds of birds, heard the erie call of a loon, and witnessed another breath-taking Door County sunrise.
